Character Sketches 2

Saw the 2019 Aladdin movie, and I thought I redraw these original characters of mine during my art school days.
In my illustration class, I have to do a character design project based on the story of A Thousand and One Nights/Arabian Nights (the novel where Aladdin was originally based off of)...but with a contemporary Hmong twist.

Aly (the Aladdin in this story) is a plain Hmong-American girl, who finds an old hollow gourd in her relatives' basement, and out comes the ghost of her dead grandmother (the "Genie"). But there's just one problem: the Genie only knows and speaks Hmong, and Aly doesn't understand nor spoke her own native tongue, due to becoming assimilated into the Western culture...oh, and she doesn't really have any wishes to give. But the Genie's on a mission to find an important treasure that she lost. Thus she still remains in the land of the living rather than moving on to the spirit world. Language barriers and hilarity ensues for the two.
