Character concepts - Ali and Genie

For my illustration narratives class; I was to draw a series of character concept designs and sketches based on the story of Aladdin. So I set mine in a more contemporary setting based on the Hmong culture; Ali is a plain Hmong girl who finds a dusty hollow gourd in her family's basement and out comes a ghost of her great grandmother...but she doesn't understand English as much as Ali (who sorta lost her Hmong way of speaking) so hilarity and language barriers ensues.
